Photoshop Elements 2020 version 18 is known to be a highly suitable editing tool for amateur and beginners in the field of photography as it is easier to learn and far more sociable than other PhotoShop programs. The new releases have kept up this trend but Adobe has incorporated some new features in the program so even the beginners can produce stunning results with their editing techniques. However, it has tools that are more of a consumer-style but the program still provides novices that are appealing for amateur photographers who want to grow into more serious pros and want creative utilities to cater to their needs of serious photo editing.
Adobe Sensei AI technology
Adobe Sensei AI is among the features of more creative nature in PhotoShop Element. The technology of Sensei AI drives automation in PS Elements. Sensei AI technology in the new release of PS Element brings creative options of Pattern brush, B&W selection, Depth of field and Painterly. All the options are very easy but yet very powerful editing tools because of Sensei AI technology behind them.
This feature enables the users to isolate the elements and objects from images and then portray them in color. The rest of the picture background becomes black and white. It’s a beautiful effect to enhance the specific objects in the picture.
Depth of Field
Depth of field is a feature that gives a mystique blur to a sharp background so the main subject of the pictures automatically gets enhanced and prominent to the eyes.
The feature has the ability to give a real color to a black and white picture which gives a new life to an old picture. It is most effective for monochrome pictures.
One-click subject selection,
The new release of PhotoShop Elements provides a new feature of one-click subject selection. The feature has the ability to outlines an object of any size in the picture. Users can then isolate the outlined picture to make a duplicate, set in a new background or transfer it to another image. It is a very difficult and intricate task if done manually particularly when the target object is something with transparent or uneven edges like frizzy hair.
The redesigned home screen makes Adobe PS Elements 2020 a highly appealing app for amateur photographers. The users are welcomed with a home screen that has a dialogue box at it’s top asking the users that what would they like to do. Furthermore, the home screen offers some very useful suggestions for users on scrolling menu panels and offers access to quick links that can instantly open organizers and photo/ video editor.
The three-layered interface for all levels of users is considered as the best perk of the new PS Element. The three levels of operation to select are Quick, Guided and Expert. Quick is for beginners while more advanced users can use one of the other two levels, Guided which as per the title has many built-in tips and guidance; or Expert that provides more intricate options more suitable for the expert photographer or photo editor.
The level of Quick, users will encounter 4 options that are extremely easy to understand. The options are Effects, Adjustments, Frames, and Textures and all four are displayed on the Quick interface at the bottom right side. By clicking each one, the users will see a preview of each option in the form of a thumbnail which expands to provide more options. This level is for the ultimate beginners where they can easily play with their creative ideas.
Guided is laced with scrolling examples grouped as Basics, Black & White, Colour, Fun Edits, Photomerge, and Special Effects. These options work as their names suggest. On this level, users are pro IDE with guidance on every step. The Guided level has many tricks in its pockets that users can learn and apply to give a unique effect time their pictures.
The interface of the Expert level resembles that of a full-fledged PhotoShop app but it provides some fast to access icons as well to display options including Filters, Layers, Graphics, Effects, etc. Even the menu bar is similar to that of PhotoShop but with the option of the Enhance tab. Also, the PS element Expert level is more focused on automated options such as Auto Sharpen, Auto Haze Removal, Auto Shake Reduction, and Auto Smart Fix so the beginners can achieve the desired result easily.
Sometimes an image does not want to have meddled completely but only a small portion needs editing and enhancing. Partial Sketch is just the thing for such images as it allows the users to apply effects only to specific portions of the image without affecting the entire picture.
All in all, PhotoShop Elements 2020 brings the number of advanced features other than the ones that are mentioned in this article such as Auto Creations and Automatic skin smoothing.
PhotoShop Element somehow holds interest for photo editors of all levels. Beginners can use the new PS element to apply various intriguing effects on their images even if they don’t intend to go to the next level of photo editing. In case, while using PS Element, they start getting interested in hardcore photo editing then the app provides them the chance to learn at their own pace by trying the automated versions of various features and editing tools. The intermediate users will find out that PS Element can teach them many new techniques through its Guided level. Lastly, this app has something I store for PhotoShop wizards as well as it offers an extremely enjoyable platform to work with the images and who knows if they learn one or two additional techniques and tricks through the app as there is no artist who is not looking for some inspiration at one time or another. In nutshell, Adobe has come up with PhotoShos Element 2020 for all and sundry.
